About Running Aces

Running Aces is situated in Columbus, Minnesota, a short half-hour drive from Minneapolis which means good crowds are encouraged to the track.

The casino section of the business provides plenty of revenue which helps purse sizes on the track and includes a big variation of blackjack, poker and various other card games, and opened in 2008.

Running Aces are famed for their initiatives, such as senior evenings and free admission and parking for all. One of their crazier, but immensely successful schemes is their “Trout Air Experience”.

With this initiative, guests are offered the chance to fish for live trout in the on-site pond before having their catch cleaned, cooked and served to them in the Trout Air Tavern restaurant as they watch the racing action unfold. It might be unusual, but it works!

Drivers, trainers, owners and grooms working within the harness racing industry in the state are represented by the Minnesota Harness Racing Inc, organized in 1951 and whose presence at Running Aces promotes the welfare of horses and horsemen at this track.

Running Aces Track Details

The track is 5/8 of a mile in length and is made up of dirt. Facilities for housing horses and horsemen are located off the backstretch.
