About Los Alamitos Thoroughbred
Run in conjunction with the Quarter Horse meet, Los Alamitos "Los Al" started running thoroughbreds during the day in the summer while simultantiously running quarter horse races later that night in 2014 in response to the closure of Hollywood Park. Their Thoroughbred racing circuit got attention fast as in 2014 a horse based there named California Chrome nearly won the Triple Crown.
Los Alamitos Track Details
The main track is a one-mile dirt oval, while there is a three-quarter mile oval used for other breeds as well.
